Why Teach English in Japan?

There are contracts available from two months all the way through to one year, so if you want a taste of teaching English in Japan without committing to a long term contract, this is a great choice.
What Will You Get in Japan?
- Salary: Minimum 250,000 Yen (AU$3,000) per month
- Accommodation: You’ll get help finding an apartment, which should cost you a maximum of 80,000 Yen (AU$850) a month
- Arrival: You’ll get picked up from the airport and given a week orientation to get you used to living in Japan
- Locations: There are TESOL jobs across the country, but most of them will be in Fukoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Hamamtsu, Yokohama, Chiba City, Hitachi and the outskirts of Tokyo
- Contract length: Two to 12 months, depending on departure date
- Departure dates: Various
- Student age range: 6-18 years old
- Japanese lessons: Free Japanese lessons provided for all teachers
- Cost of living: Accommodation will set you back up to AU$850 a month. You can expect to spend another AU$700 or so every month on your basic living expenses. That’ll leave around AU$1500 a month to enjoy yourself, travel around and save a little.
