Wages and Cost of Living
There are no hard and fast rules about wages in China. Your wages will be determined by your experience and your TESOL training. As always, the more experienced and qualified you are, the more you’ll be able to earn. So with a recognised TESOL certificate you can earn around 3,500RMB a month (AU$540), and if you have a couple of years’ experience that could rise to around 9,000 RMB (AU$1,390). The cost of living isn’t particularly high, so you should be able to live pretty well on your TESOL wages.
